Laptops For Students
(guest post written by: Julie C. )
There are many options and features that that you’ll find in laptops for students in, or starting college. Since all students have different needs, there are going to be a wide variety of things that influence their decisions. This is also one of the most important investments that a student will make. I have had my laptop since I began college and have been very happy with the choice that I made.
In my opinion, cost, ease-of-use, and the aesthetic elements of a laptop are some of its’ most important features of the best laptop for college students.
First, a student should decide how much they want to spend on a laptop for students. The range of prices is very large. A basic laptop can be found for around five-six hundred dollars, while pricier and more complex models can be as much as two thousand. If you are only going to use your laptop for word processing and emailing, then a cheaper version may suffice. If you play computer games, or use applications that “eat” a lot of memory (i.e. music or architecture programs), then you may want to spend more to get a better system in your computer. If money is tight, going cheap may be best as you can always upgrade a few years down the line.
Students should make sure that their laptops are easy-to-use. Go to the store and try one out or talk to other students for recommendations. Also, finding out if you are a Mac or PC person may be the first step in this direction.
Lastly, aesthetics can mean a lot to many students. If you are going to take your computer out of the house a lot, then make sure it is portable. Get a laptop that isn’t too heavy or bulky. On the other hand, let’s say a student has poor vision. In that case, a laptop with a bigger screen may be the way to go.
These are just a few aspects of a laptop that could influence a student’s decision. Sit down and write a list of what is important for you. Also, I would always advise looking long and hard for good deals. It’s not fun when you buy a laptop and then find it for sale at a different store.

I would recommend the Toshiba Silver 15.6″ Satellite L455D-S5976 because of its computing power and performance and also because it comes in a great back to college bundle. It has all of the accessories and performance ability for the typical college student, and it also comes with a mouse, memory stick, carrying case, and a setup assistance program in a bundle for less than $450 from walmart.com. I know that a college student usually has a limited budget, and this laptop not only allows them to get a quality laptop but also to get all of the required features without having to spend a lot of extra money once they get to school.

I myself own a laptop and being a college student it is to my advantage. I carry my laptop at school it is very handy and not bulky. I will recommend the hp dv-1360us entertainment notebook 16:9 HP LED brightview widescreen display for full-screen HD TV and video playback for your own preference,ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics with 1024MB dedicated video memory for ultra-realistic 3D rendering and HD videos and most of all it is duo core for fast usage of this laptop. It ha HDMI port and a port for a wireless usage of a projector when you do the reporting. And most of all it has an Altec Lansing known for its superb sound quality. This laptop is excellent for reporting and doing your thesis. You can buy this at Walmart and Tiger Direct for a cheaper price.

I’ve always loved my Dell Inspiron. It’s light and easy to carry around campus to my classes. The only problem I’ve had were a couple of the keys had popped off, and even though it was my problem Dell sent me a replacement keyboard free of charge. Their customer service representatives were friendly and great.
The computer has been fast and it came equipped with all the basics I needed for school. Dell’s website makes it easy to order exactly what is right for you, and it was less than $600 for a great computer.

Being a college Student my self a lap top is a very important thing, it’s my life right now so getting that that Mr right is very important. When choosing your computer the specification or specs for short is very important but as for brands go i would recommend Dell, mainly because i have tired a lot of other PC’s and seems to be one of the most stable PC’s around there their customer support is very good. Ok The average college student who just needs a laptop for typing documents or maybe playing a little games and searching the net for research projects I would recommend the Dell Inpiron 15.45 about 2 gig Ram 250 GiG hard drive core 2 duo processor and normal onboard intel graphics card. This should cost around $600 US and it well last long. A lap top is a friend a companion that you will have for the duration of your college life so chose wise and by experience this is definitely a wise choice good luck!
